Safe Blog Sites For Students

This isn't one of the "things" but as I delve into this process I am trying to find ways to use what I'm learning at my school site. I would like to set up a blog site for my schools library. My dilema is that, even though I really like the ease of blogger.com, the "Next Blog" feature makes it inappropriate for student access. One suggestion from a trusted district tech guru was www.imbee.com . I would love suggestions of any others.

I use Word Press. You can use it from the website (still some risk) or download it to your server and have total control (my choice). You can see my book club blog at http://www.djusd.k12.ca.us/harper/library/blog/

yomod.com is another good option.

I love your Web 2 information. You are amazing.
I am going to be a regular reader of your blog.
I also like your messy desk. It looks just like mine.
From whats up

I have spent the last couple of days working my way down the SLL2.0 participants list, reading blogs, I must say yours is one of the most thoughtful I have come across. I was touched by the quote from Dr. Wendy Shultz, and your banner quote is the best!

I hope this isn't a double post! My keyboard is a little too touchy.

We have the same problem with blogger being blocked by the district firewall. The Orange County Department of Education recommends and does not block edublogs, which are purely for educational use and contain some extra security features. You can check mine out at:

Rather cool place you've got here. Thanx for it. I like such topics and everything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read a bit more soon.
